Therapeutic Support
Building Trust, Confidence and Connection
At The Bridge Centre, we understand that the word "therapy" can sometimes feel intimidating. Many children and young people worry that they will be expected to sit and talk about their feelings, answer difficult questions or discuss experiences before they feel ready.
Our therapeutic support is different.
We believe that meaningful change begins with feeling safe, understood and accepted. Rather than focusing solely on talking about problems, we prioritise building a genuine therapeutic relationship with a trusted adult who takes the time to get to know each young person as an individual.
Sessions are relaxed, flexible and tailored to the needs of the child or young person. There is no pressure to talk about emotions or difficult experiences. Instead, we create opportunities for connection through conversation, activities, interests, creativity, games, walks and shared experiences that help young people feel comfortable and supported.
For many children and young people, simply having a consistent, trusted adult who listens without judgement can be the foundation for increased confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Sessions may also take place within educational settings, community environments or other agreed locations where the young person feels most comfortable.
By meeting children and young people where they feel safest, we can begin building trusting relationships that encourage engagement and positive change.

Our Approach
Our approach is relationship-based, strengths-focused and neurodiversity-affirming.
We recognise that every child is unique and that there is no "one size fits all" approach to support. We work at the young person's pace, building trust gradually and focusing on their strengths, interests and individual goals.
Above all, we aim to create a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where children and young people can feel comfortable being themselves, develop confidence and build the skills they need to thrive.
Support Delivered in a Way That Works for the Young Person We recognise that attending appointments in unfamiliar settings can be difficult for some children and young people. For this reason, therapeutic support can often be provided within the comfort of the family home, helping to reduce anxiety and make support more accessible.
“ Tallulah has supported my autistic son for two years, and the progress has been incredible. Her child‑led approach has really boosted his confidence, and the termly review meetings keep everything clear, collaborative, and focused on meaningful goals. We’re so grateful for her thoughtful, compassionate support.”
Zhara Halksworth, Parent
“ Tallulah is amazing. She has built a strong, trusting relationship with my daughter and has been supporting her for over a year now. We genuinely wouldn’t know what to do without her — a real lifesaver. Highly recommend."
Katharina, Parent
“ Tallulah has been working with my daughter, she comes to our house as my daughter struggles to go outside. My daughter has built a great bond with her which is amazing as she struggles to talk to people. ”
“ I took my 10 year old son to see Tallulah as he was struggling generally with his mental health. Tallulah really bonded with him so that he was comfortable enough to talk about his feelings and work through various coping strategies for life.
The sessions he had have really helped him and he is in a better place mentally and I can see how he manages to cope with difficult situations in his life.
I cannot recommend Tallulah highly enough as she has really helped him to get through a difficult time in his life. ”
Louise Stringer, Parent
